Japan’s Takato Naohisa In Tears As He Wins The First Gold Medal @The Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games

Japanese born 60kg judo athlete, Takato Naohisa, Saturday emerged as  the first athlete to poach gold at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic games.

 

Takato won by  ippon  against his Chinese Taipei opponent YANG Yung..

 

The  28 years old athlete who was all tears after the victory said “I think this result was achieved with the support of everyone. I’m really glad that I was able to achieve this result because I’ve been causing so much trouble for my coaches.

 

“I am glad to have achieved this result. I wasn’t able to win boldly, but this is my judo. Thank you very much for your support.”

 

His  23-year-old  Chinese Taipei’s opponent also won the first medal for his country in  this year’s  Olympic Games and the first ever medalist in Olympic Judo for his country.

 

Yang said “It means a great deal to me, I actually was aiming for the gold medal so I’m not fully satisfied with the result. I’m still young so I will definitely aim higher.”

 

Kazakhstan’s Yeldos Smetov won  bronze after defeating  Tornike Tsjakadoea from  the Netherlands.
