Kano state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Thursday presented the 2022 proposed appropriation law to Kano state House of Assembly.
Our correspondent reports that the proposed 2022 budget presented by the state governor did no specifically stipulate the amount planned to be spent by the state government on the sports sector in the coming year, 2022.
However governor Ganduje told the state lawmakers that “Similarly, in our bid to curtail the menace attached to youth unemployment in the state, we dedicated the sum of N400million for the construction of two additional skill acquisition Centre at North and south senatorial districts.
Ganduje further said to the august session “Mr. Speaker, Honorable Members, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, while craving the indulgence of this Honourable House for accelerated consideration, it is my pleasure to in the name of Allah the Most Merciful and Most High present an aggregate Budget of N196,353,468,505.10 for the Year2022 with capital estimate of N107,879,853,788.07 representing 55% and recurrent allocation of N88,473,614,717.03 representing 45% before this Honourable House for your deliberation, considerations and approval.
The governor further clarified that “The present administration has defined functions among various Ministries, Departments and Agencies. In spite of this delineation, the need for collaboration among all government institutions as enshrined in our development Plan has become increasingly important. We intend to further achieve synergy through collaboration and integration of programmes and Projects at all levels in order to realize our vision of making Kano greater.
“The General Administration sector plays an important role in the execution of government policies and programmes. State Government will continue to make available necessary facilities and incentives to all the three arms of government to enable them carry out their statutory functions efficiently and effectively. In our effort to promote General Administration in the next fiscal year, the state government has earmarked the sum of N27.1Billion for the effective service delivery across the MDAs in the State. “ Ganduje stated.
