The newly appointed coordinator and sporting director of Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL side , Kano Pillars U-15 , Ahmed Munzali Dantata has disclosed that his mission is to curb the notorious challenge posed to the development of football by age cheating.
He lamented that the threat of age cheating has robbed Nigeria of its chances to excel and failed to exploits its potentials from the vast rich global football economy.
The Kano born businessman and philanthropists in a chat with sports journalists in Kano expressed his worries over the depreciating condition of talent discovery, nurturing and the reaping of the supposed end results associated with football entrepreneurship.
According to him, Nigeria has failed to live up to its global billings owing to the short active life span of its footballers which he attributed its major cause to football age virus(age cheating).
“the only way to fight the issue is long term investment in our grass root football, Kano Pillars has all what it takes to stage the fight against the biggest challenge facing the development and growth of our football industry.”
Speaking on his new responsibility as the coordinator/sporting director of Kano Pillars U-15 side, he said “ I am Kano and Kano is me, I live and love Kano as my city , my state, I studied in England which has similar rich football culture and tradition like what obtains in Kano.
“My appointment brings me to the fore of the challenge, I cherish I to confront head long, which is to discover and groom young talents, I am of the conviction that Kano Pillars is yet to exploit its football potentials.
“Kano Pillars has the potentials to compete and excel ahead of club sides like Al Ahly in Egypt, and Kaizer Chiefs off South Africa , my been brought on board is an indication that the management of the club is focused and determined to set the club on the right track.
“I am delighted, I want again and again assure the club fans, that I will deploy my knowledge of the game that were acquired here at home and from my sojourn abroad to move the club forward.
