Nigeria’s Female Long Jump Athlete, Ese Brume, Breaks African Record

Delta state born, Ese Brume has shattered  Nigeria and Africa’s Long  Jump   record held  by her compatriot  Chioma Ajunwa.

Brume had  leapt 7.17m at the Sandiago Chula Vista Festival to  beat Olympics champion Britney Reese, and Chantley Malone to the 2nd and 3rd positions.

The athlete featured for Nigeria at the 2013  African Junior  Athletics Championship  winning gold.

At the 2018 Olympics, Brume   leapt 6.18m to  book 5th place.

Further Brume came 3rd place at the 2019 Word Athletics Championship held in Doha,  Qatar.

Born  1996 in Ughelli , Brume  is a five time African Junior Champion.

Nigeria’s minister of sports, Sunday Dare have described Brume as a medal hopeful at the forth coming 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.
