NSF, Delta 2022: Revealed , How 25 years old , Imo state  boxer died, sports writers observe one minute silence

Revelations has emerged how  Imo state boxer, Chukwuemeka Igboanugo died while representing his state at the ongoing 21st edition of the National Sports Festival, NSF been held in Asaba , Delta state.

The 81 kg boxer last Monday was reported to have suffered a knock, during a fight at Nigeria’s  largest sports fiesta , which resulted to the fighter  resulted into  giving his last  death.

The transition of the deceased athlete has sent tongues waging over what allegedly led to his demise various version of what translated to his demise is been peddled across board on all available media platforms.

Aniagwu who took time to shed light on the circumstance that culminate into the death of  Igboanugo explained that the late athlete died from a yet to be confirmed medical complications.

He revealed  that prior to his last fight at the games, late Chukwuemeka  was diagnosed of High Blood Pressure, “ he was asked to leave and to return later for another round  of medical check.

“when he came back for the second medical check, it was discovered that , his conditions has improved , he was then asked to go, and was requested  to return back for another round of medical check, he failed to show up again.”

The fiesta honcho further revealed that the deceased proceed to honour his next  fight where he  started bleeding amid the fight, he was given adequate paramedical attention beside the arena   before be taken to the medical facility located  within the sports facility, where the fight took place.

“ he fought to remain alive, he fought desperately, “ the medical team resort to taking late Chukwuemeka  to a referral hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical personnel.

Aniagwu on behalf of the people and government of Delta state commiserate  with the government and people of Imo state over the loss of the athlete, whom he described as a hero.

In his words “ Chukwuemeka died a hero, he was resilient and patrotic, even when he should have quit the fight,  he went on with the fight out of patriotism, out of his love for his state and game.

“we commiserate  with the Nigeria boxing family, the sports fraternity at large, we are all bereaved, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to  his immediate family,   and friends.”

In a related development, sports writers covering the ongoing National Sports Festival, in Asaba, delta state  have observed a minute silence in honour of late Chukwuemeka.

The sports writers, Wednesday evening at the games village, media centre located at Stephen Keshi stadia ,  prayed for the repose of the soul of the late boxer.
